The Los Angeles Times slammed Donald Trump in a new editorial, arguing that his “unpredictable” and “reckless” behavior is “the most worrisome” part of his presidency and that “nothing prepared us for the magnitude of this trainwreck.”

Its editors on Sunday criticized Trump for his attempts to repeal and replace ObamaCare, for vowing to erect a border wall and for questioning the courts.

“In a matter of weeks, President Trump has taken dozens of real-life steps that, if they are not reversed, will rip families apart, foul rivers and pollute the air, intensify the calamitous effects of climate change and profoundly weaken the system of American public education for all.

These are immensely dangerous developments which threaten to weaken this country’s moral standing in the world, imperil the planet and reverse years of slow but steady gains by marginalized or impoverished Americans.”

The newspaper promised to focus on three of the president’s traits: his “shocking lack of respect” for institutions, his “utter lack of regard” for the truth and his “scary willingness” to propagate alt-right conspiracy theories.

Its editors called on voters and lawmakers alike to hold the president accountable.
