Kellyanne Conway came out of the basement today and in an interview for Fox & Friends, called for Democrats to speak out against violence at recent protests.
Conway specifically pointed to Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
“I’d love for them to come forward as leaders of the Democratic Party and tell people to stop. They have a right to express their First Amendment. But at the same time, violence is not going to get us anywhere.”
Conway also said she wants to see Democratic leaders come out and negotiate on policy issues.
“I would love to hear Democratic leaders of the party — instead of still talking about the election — move forward and help us negotiate. Help us get some Democratic votes on tax reform, on healthcare reform, infrastructure.”
Thousands of people protested across the country Saturday — on what is traditionally Tax Day in the U.S. — to demand Donald Trump release his tax returns.
Trump on Sunday appeared to mock the rising calls for him to release his documents.
“Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday,” he tweeted. “The election is over!”
“I did what was an almost an impossible thing to do for a Republican-easily won the Electoral College! Now Tax Returns are brought up again?” he said in another tweet.
