Ivanka Trump tweeted her support for Equal Pay Day, calling for the gender pay gap to be closed.
“#EqualPayDay is a reminder that women deserve equal pay for equal work. We must work to close the gender pay gap!” the first daughter and “special White House adviser” tweeted.

Equal Pay Day was started in 1996 by the National Committee on Pay Equity to raise awareness about the pay gap between men and women’s wage differences.
Of course, the internet thought this was ridiculous, and let her know it:
@IvankaTrump You're a privileged child who even got a White House job handed to you despite having no qualifications. But please talk to us about struggle

@IvankaTrump For God's sake, Ivanka. How can you say this and also support your father while he's rolling back protections for women on this very issue?

@IvankaTrump Really Ivanka? I thought you were better than this. Since 1963 it has been ILLEGAL to pay women less than men for the same work.

@IvankaTrump Tell that to your father. He doesn't believe in raising the minimum wage, is anti-union, & we all know how he feel about women's bodies

@IvankaTrump "take this carrot!" don't watch as my family exploits powers for even more money.

@IvankaTrump This is just laughable. Your dad and SenRyan getting rid of programs that help women attain that goal. Get smart!
