Today Donald Trump honored the New England Patriots during their visit to the White House, where he took part in the annual celebration for Super Bowl winners.
Trump is known to be friendly with head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, but Brady didn’t appear today due to “personal family matters” on his end. Trump suspiciously didn’t mention Brady my name, perhaps angry at the slight.
Several of the members of the 2016 team said they wouldn’t appear either, and the ceremony comes shortly after former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was found dead after an apparent suicide in prison.
Of course Trump had to make the visit all about him:
