Donald Trump surrogate, Roger Stone, was reportedly in a car accident, and is blaming the “deep state” for trying to “assassinate” him. It is unclear exactly when the incident occurred, but Stone appears to have escaped mostly unscathed, tweeting about the close call Wednesday afternoon.

In an appearance on the website InfoWars, where he is a frequent contributor, Stone said suspected foul play was at work.

“I am a consistent critic of the ‘Deep State’—that’s why I think I’m targeted,” Stone said on the show.

In the past, he has claimed he was poisoned by radioactive polonium. Before Stone exited the show and allegedly departed for the hospital, he said, “It didn’t seem like an accident to me,” and then tweeted following the interview: “Car I was in T-boned by large grey 4 door—dark tinted windshield—I was passenger side.”
