Melania Trump came out of hiding Friday night to make an appearance at Mar-a-Lago, while her husband spent the weekend in Washington, DC., (but was still golfing both Saturday and Sunday).
Melania made a brief appearance at a pre-party reception, and Florida Gov. Rick Scott spoke at the event, where guests wore red “Make America Great Again” hats and dined on the filet mignon and scallops, the Palm Beach Post reported.
The First Lady attended the fundraiser for just “a few minutes”.
Michael Barnett, who is the county’s GOP chairman, rented the club’s ballroom for $150,000. Almost 700 guests attended, paying around $300 a piece.
The fundraiser happened on Friday night, just hours after the Republican effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare failed. Melania Trump also spent time with Lynette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, the African-American sisters from North Carolina known as “Diamond and Silk” for their viral videos supporting Trump.
