President Trump’s administration has been plagued by a single accusation which threatens to cripple his presidency since before it started, Russia. Trump and his team have denied having communication with the Russian government. However, one by one, his inner circle are finding themselves steeped in controversy as evidence to the contrary is presented.
Most recently, Trump himself has been shown to be a liar:
Via OccupyDemocrats: According to a story published by The Wall Street Journal, Trump personally met with the Russian ambassador on April 27, 2016. The meeting took place shortly before Trump took the stage to deliver a speech on foreign policy.
As reported by the Wall Street Journal “A few minutes before he made those remarks […] Mr. Trump met at a VIP reception with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Ivanovich Kislyak. Mr. Trump warmly greeted Mr. Kislyak and three other foreign ambassadors who came to the reception.”
Kislayk is the same Russian Ambassador with whom Attorney General Jeff Sessions himself met twice.
National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was forced to resign after his conversations with Russian officials that had been recorded through a FISA warrant were made available to lawmakers.
The “Russia” controversy has been called fake news by Trump and he went so far as to blame the intelligence community along with former Obama officials for working in tandem to bring about the controversy around Flynn.
Regardless of how the evidence came to light, this scandal doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon.
