Arnold Schwarzenegger is not giving up in his attacks against Donald Trump, and on Tuesday he said that Trump must be “in love” with him to carry on their public feud from the White House.
“Why do you think the president is fixated on you?” host Michael Smerconish asked Schwarzenegger on his Sirius XM broadcast Tuesday. “Why does he keep talking about you through his Twitter feed?”
“I think he’s in love with me,” Schwarzenegger responded.
“Is that what it is?” Smerconish said. “You’ve had a long relationship with Trump.
“Yeah, I think so,” the movie star chuckled. “Oh yes.”
Schwarzenegger would not further comment on Trump despite Smerconish’s prodding.
Schwarzenegger went on to say that Republicans and Democrats have to come together to get anything done.
“I believe very strongly in what Dwight Eisenhower said. That politics is like the road: The left and the right is like the gutter, and the center is drivable. And I believe that the action is in the center, and I hope that the politicians wake up one day and just decide that they want to do the people’s work rather than the party’s work. Because the way it is right now, it doesn’t work, nothing is getting accomplished.”
Schwarzenegger announced last week that his first season as host of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” would also be his last.
