The administration of President Donald Trump has been attempting to put out the blazing dumpster fire that was ignited after Trump’s now former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn was forced to resign in disgrace. It was discovered that Flynn had been in communication with the Russian government and was offering and brokering deals when he did not have the authority to do so. Furthermore, Flynn then lied about the extent of his communications with the Russians to President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Humorously, Trump was made aware of Flynn’s villainy weeks prior to the story breaking in the national media, but he only asked for his resignation after the story became public. Now it seems the gravy train in the media is coming to a crashing halt for Trump with even Fox News joining the bandwagon of verbal assault against Trump and his administration’s unending series of blunders.
Fox News Host Shepard Smith roasted Trump and, in part, said:
They want this to be about trust. When you find out he lied to the president of the United States, that’s where rubber meets the road. It does not meet the road when the Washington Post, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal all make it a front page story above the fold.
Smith went on to decry how Trump knew about the scandal and did not lift a finger until his hand was forced by the public’s outrage after learning about the story through various media sources:
Because, in this case, that’s what it took. It did not take the president. It took the headlines.
