According to The White House, Ivanka Trump’s role in her father’s administration is “to be helpful and provide input” on issues of concern to her.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer said during Thursday’s daily briefing:
“I think her role is to be helpful and provide input on a variety of areas that she has deep, passionate concerns about, especially in the area of women in the workforce and empowering women. She is someone who has a lot of expertise and wants to offer that, especially in the area of trying to help women,” he added. “She understands that firsthand.”
Ivanka Trump took an active role in her father’s 2016 campaign. And while she doesn’t have an official position in Trump’s White House, she is considered a powerful influence on her father.
She attended a meeting of U.S. manufacturing executives at the White House on Thursday. Her husband, senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, was also part of Thursday’s “working group sessions.”
