In an absolutely unprecedented move President Donald Trump’s administration has vowed that they are not going to appear on news networks whose content does not agree with their sensibilities. In particular, the administration will be blocking CNN from receiving access in what appears to be the next escalation in a petty fight.

The climate between Trump and CNN has been coming to a boil ever since Trump called the network “fake news.” Trump’s Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, said he has been answering CNN’s questions, but adding , “I’m not going to sit around and engage with people who have no desire to actually get something right.” Spicer further stated, “We’re sending surrogates to places where we think it makes sense to promote our agenda.”

The tone of this statement is ominous for the American people who did not vote for Trump. As the new president, he is responsible for representing every citizen and not just those who agree with his policies. The favoritism is staggering.

CNN’s President Jeff Zucker has brushed aside the assertion and said:

I think the era of access journalism as we’ve known it is over. I think our credibility is higher than ever, and our viewership is higher than ever, and our reporting is as strong as ever.

In reality Trump has the ability to choose wherever he, or those who work for him, appear to speak. He is not legally bound to give equal time to each news source, but that is what is expected of the president.

Do you think that Trump has a valid point in barring networks he feels cover him unfavorably? Comment below and let us know what you think.
