Nordstrom is planning to reduce its stock of Ivanka Trump merchandise following boycotts of retailers by protesters, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
According to the report, the department-store chain will cut back on stock of Trump’s merchandise, though some will remain in stores.
The decision, which has not been confirmed or officially announced by Nordstrom, would come after the Grab Your Wallet campaign, which is critical of Donald Trump’s administration, asked shoppers to boycott retailers with Ivanka and Donald Trump-branded products.
Ivanka Trump is no longer listed in the brands on Nordstrom’s website, though it is still included on its Nordstrom Rack website.
Co-President Pete Nordstrom addressed the controversy surrounding the partnership in a November email to employees. Nordstrom said the company had heard from customers threatening to boycott the chain for its relationship with Trump unless it were to sever ties.
“This is a sharply divisive subject,” he said. “No matter what we do, we are going to end up disappointing some of our customers. Every single brand we offer is evaluated on their results –– if people don’t buy it, we won’t sell it.”
