The reigning MLB world-champion Chicago Cubs will visit the White House next week, five days before President Obama departs the office, breaking a long-standing tradition of teams making their trip during the regular season.

The Cubs ended their historic 108-year World Series championship drought in a dramatic Game 7 win over the Cleveland Indians, and were reportedly hoping to make the traditional White House visit before Obama departed Washington, D.C, because of his Chicago background. Though the president is a White Sox fan, he calls Chicago home and rooted for the North Siders since his team didn’t make the playoffs.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest confirmed the visit Wednesday and said Obama “is really looking forward to it.”

Can you blame them?

Just the thought of Trump welcoming winning teams, pardoning turkey’s, presiding over the White House Easter egg hunt…it’s just too much to bear.
