President* Donald Trump has told the public many times now he doesn’t intend to release his tax returns until his audit by the IRS is complete.

A petition to the White House started Friday has gained over 217,000 signatures demanding that Trump release his tax returns now that he has assumed the Presidency. The problem has become compounded after WikiLeaks just announced that if anyone sends them Trump’s tax returns they will publish them, opening the possibility they may be leaked by someone who has access to them.

WikiLeaks tweeted out: “Trump Counselor Kellyanne Conway stated today that Trump will not release his tax returns,” WikiLeaks posted on Twitter.

“Send them to: so we can.”

ViaTheHill: WikiLeaks also blasted the president for declining to release his tax returns himself.

“Trump’s breach of promise over the release of his tax returns is even more gratuitous than [Hillary] Clinton concealing her Goldman Sachs transcripts,” the organization tweeted.

Kellyanne Conway, on Sunday said the president would not release his tax returns.

“We litigated this all through the election. People didn’t care,” Conway, a top Trump adviser, said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“They voted for him, and let me make this very clear: most Americans are — are very focused on what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like.”
