A bunch of Academy Award front-runners, including Emma Stone, Matthew McConaughey, Natalie Portman, Taraji P. Henson, Amy Adams and Chris Pine, have a message ahead of next week’s inauguration of Donald Trump: “I Will Survive.”
The group of A-listers all appear in a video produced by W magazine singing the 1979 Gloria Gaynor hit.
In a story accompanying the celeb-filled tune, the magazine writes, “While the song has long been interpreted through a socially conscious lens, it’s the kind of anthem we need now more than ever with the inauguration bearing down on us. With an impending Donald Trump presidency, I will survive.”
The “dramatic interpretation,” W mag writes, “is just the antidote for a still-grieving Hollywood, many members of which were outspoken Hillary Clinton supporters over the past year — and a few of whom have found themselves on the unfriendly end of Donald Trump’s Twitter account.”
