Republicans Submit Bill To Outlaw Abortion After SIX Weeks Of Pregnancy

While Republicans consider themselves to hold a mandate after winning the presidency, a majority in the Senate, and maintaining a majority in the House of Representatives their latest line of attack is not supported by the far far far majority of Americans. Staying true to their despicable roots Republicans have moved to make abortion illegal in the United States.

The villain guilty of initiating the action is Rep. Steve King (R-IA) who proposed a “heartbeat bill” which would criminalize ending a pregnancy after six weeks. This is outrageous as many women are unaware they are event pregnant at this early stage of a pregnancy. “Heartbeat bills” have been previously declared as unconstitutional, but this is not preventing Republicans from attempting to use the full power of Congress to force this law on the American people.

The bill is called HR 490 and says, “If a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected.”

King brought the legislation to the Congressional floor after a conversation with anti-abortion activist Janet Porter. Of the conversation Porter said:

I gave him a packet and he has agreed to introduce a federal Heartbeat Bill, which would protect every baby whose heartbeat can be detected. That will actually end abortion in nearly every case. Ninety to 95 percent of the abortions will be ended with that bill.

Considering that previous attempts at passing similar laws have been struck down, it is likely that this law will also suffer a similar fate. That does not mean that Republicans won’t pass it anyway and force the American people to follow its draconian terms until it makes it way through the court system.
