Donald Trump, in all of his glory as the soon to be 45th President of the United States, embarrassed himself yet again with his complete lack of understanding of what he is talking about. Trump recently held a press conference where the F-35 fighter jet was discussed. The jet has been something of a running gag in Washington, D.C. as it has been in production for years and has yet to be proved to actually perform.
Trump, who vowed to slash spending, spoke on the subject in his typical world salad barrage:
And we’re going to do that with a lot of other industries. I’m very much involved with the generals and admirals on the airplane, the F-35 you’ve been reading about it. And it’s way, way behind schedule and many billions of dollars over budget. I don’t like that.
And the admirals have been fantastic. The generals have been fantastic. I’ve really gotten to know them well. And were going to do some big things on the F-35 program and perhaps the F18 program. And we’re going to get those costs way down, and we’re gonna get the plane even better and we’re going to have to some competition. And it’s going to be a beautiful thing.
Trump said nothing while spewing dozens of words as if he had a semblance of an idea as to what he was talking about. The fact is the fighter jet has been in production for almost 30 years. Now, without offering any evidence, Trump says it will be ready and cost much less once he is president? If anybody believes that they should consider buying a bridge which I have for sale at a bargain price.
