Today is Michelle Obama’s 53rd birthday, and President Obama wished his wife Michelle a happy birthday with a touching tweet to mark the First Lady’s turning 53 years of age.
“To the girl from the South Side who took on a role she didn’t ask for and made it her own: Happy Birthday, Michelle. I love you.”

The tweet was attached to an image of the couple sitting in the back of a golf cart while dressed for the Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC, on January 20, 2009.
In the photograph taken by official White House photographer Pete Souza, the couple are gesturing with their hands to the camera as they are carted off to the festivities.
Obama revealed on Sunday that the First Family will be happy to move out of the White House and out of the spotlight.
Speaking to Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes he said that the ‘bubbles’ they are in and constraints posed by Secret Service have “gotten old”.
He said: “Michelle never fully took to the scrutiny. She’s thrived as a First Lady, but it’s not her preference. She was the hardest sell, and she never fully embraced being in the public spotlight, which is ironic given how good she is.”
