Donald Trump loves ratings. He’s a TV junkie, and all throughout the election Trump loves to tout that his debates had the best ratings, etc.
Well, the ratings for his inauguration were lackluster.
Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday was a TV event, with approximately 30.6 million people tuning in to watch, however, viewership was down from President Obama’s first inauguration in 2009, which averaged nearly 38 million viewers.
But Trump knows how to spin that.
Wow, television ratings just out: 31 million people watched the Inauguration, 11 million more than the very good ratings from 4 years ago!

The appropriate comparison is to Obama’s first inauguration in 2009, when 38 million viewers tuned in, according to Nielsen. (Second inaugurations never summon the viewership of first inaugurations.)
So Trump loses. Sad.
