The final campaign videos have been released in hopes of persuading last minute voters, and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s is not kind by any definition of the word. Many are saying that Trump’s campaign ad is aimed at inciting hatred against members of the Jewish faith, as the video hints that prominent Jewish individuals are those who are in control of the “levers of power.”
A speech from Trump fro West Palm Beach is the main focus of the campaign ad, which is two minutes long. The Anti-Defamation League‘s CEO, Jonathan A. Greenblatt, says the ad uses “rhetoric and tropes that historically have been used against Jews and still spur antisemitism.” He went on to say:
This needs to stop. In the final days before the election, tensions are extremely high. It’s a time when all candidates need to be especially responsible and bid for votes by offering sincere ideas and policy proposals, not by conjuring painful stereotypes and baseless conspiracy theories.
Trump’s campaign advertisement said:
The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. For those who control the levers of power in Washington and for the global special interests, they partner with these people that don’t have your good in mind.
While Trump attempts to use frightening language he flashes the faces of prominent Jewish citizens including billionaire George Soros, Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen, and the CEO of Goldman Sachs Lloyd Blankfein.
The internet was keenly aware of this attempt by Trump to demonize Jewish individuals, and they took to Twitter to express their disgust:
