If one were to look up the word “jealous” in the dictionary, they would find a picture of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s fake tanned face. Trump does not have the ability to sustain individuals who disagree with him and he routinely takes the opportunity to disparage any person who does not support his candidacy. Rather than attempt to persuade individuals to his side, Trump alienates them to ensure that they will never have a desire to become part of his constituency. This fact was evident when Trump went on an absurd tirade about musician Jay-Z for supporting Hillary Clinton.
Jaz-Z was on stage with Hillary Clinton at a campaign rally in Ohio and he said:
This other guy Trump, I don’t have any ill will, but he cannot be my president. He cannot be our president. Once you divide us, you weaken us. We are stronger together.
Trump could not stand for this effrontery and lashed out at Jay-Z and Clinton:
I didn’t have to bring…Jay Z. I’m here all by myself. Just me, no guitar, no piano, no nothing. We don’t need Jay Z to fill up arenas…we do it the old-fashioned way. I actually like Jay Z, but the language last night, ohhhh…I was thinking, maybe I’ll just try—should I use that language for one of mine?
While it is true that Trump didn’t have a celebrity endorsement, that is because nobody likes him. He would be hard pressed to find any African-American entertainer willing to support his candidacy, let alone go out and give a stump speech for him.
