According to a behind-the-scenes story in The New York Times, the Donald Trump campaign has forbidden him from using Twitter.
While Trump publicly shows he is confident in an Election Day victory, the Times writes that Trump is privately expressing worry about his chances of defeating Hillary Clinton, and always asks for his aides to be talking to him into the night so that he is not “alone with his thoughts.”
Indeed, the insults and other musings that have been a hallmark of Trump’s Twitter account have lessened in frequency in recent weeks. The account is now primarily used for promoting rallies and sharing campaign videos and photos, in addition to pro-Trump articles from alt-right sites like Breitbart.
“Taking away Twitter turned out to be an essential move by his press team, which deprived him of a previously unfiltered channel for his aggressions,” the Times reporters wrote.
