Following Monday’s meeting with all the major networks, Donald Trump planned a meeting with the New York Times for today.

However, out of the blue Tuesday morning, Trump announced on Twitter, that he had canceled a meeting with New York Times executives, reporters, and columnists, claiming the “terms and conditions” of were changed at the last minute, adding the “failing” paper was “not nice.”

In a series of tweets, he added, “Perhaps a new meeting will be set up with the @nytimes. In the meantime they continue to cover me inaccurately and with a nasty tone!”

In an early-morning response, Clifford Levy, assistant masthead editor of the Times, said the newspaper was unaware that the meeting was canceled until they saw it on Twitter on Tuesday. “We did not change the ground rules at all and made no attempt to,” Levy said in a statement.

As of about 10 a.m., the meeting was back on “as planned” without any further details about what caused—or resolved—the disruption. Trump on Monday met with executives and reporters from major cable-TV news organizations.
