Dr. Ben Carson has said that he’d had multiple “offers on the table” for positions in the incoming Trump administration, including secretary of housing and urban development.
“I would say that was one of the offers that is on the table,” the retired neurosurgeon told Fox News Neil Cavuto of the possibility that he is being considered for the the top HUD job.
After Carson had seemed to rule out serving in government, Trump triggered renewed the conversation by tweeting that Carson was being “seriously” considered to head HUD, which oversees federal housing policy.
“I am seriously considering Dr. Ben Carson as the head of HUD. I’ve gotten to know him well–he’s a greatly talented person who loves people!,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
