During the presidential election between then-Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump vowed to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton’s various scandals. Trump further stated that if and when he became president he would do whatever he could to ensure Clinton found herself in prison. Now that the unthinkable has happened and Trump has won the presidency, the very real possibility of Trump following through with his despicable plan has arrived.

In an attempt to halt Trump’s vindictive agenda the Reverend Jesse Jackson has a crafty plan to protect Hillary Clinton. He thinks President Obama should issue a preemptive pardon for anything Trump may try to drum up over the next four years. Jackson said:

It would be a monumental moral mistake to pursue the indictment of Hillary Clinton… President Ford said we don’t need Nixon for a trophy. We need to move on. President Nixon wasn’t convicted of a crime. He didn’t apply for a pardon. For did it because he thought it would be best for the country. Hillary Clinton has not been tried, but there are those who want to drag her for the next three years. It will not stop until they find a reason to put her in jail. That would be a travesty.

Will President Obama follow through with Jackson’s plan? He should, if for no other reason than to rustle Trump’s jimmies.
