The way in which Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has treated women over the years has been well documented, and Trump’s deplorable nature is laid bare for all to see. After a bombshell recording of Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women was released, one might suspect that was the worst thing that could happen to Trump’s campaign — and they’d be wrong. A former female business partner of Trump has come forward with a heartbreaking story about how Trump attempted to rape her in 1992.
Jill Harth stated in a deposition that Trump “was relentless” in his pursuit of having sex with her, all the while knowing she had a boyfriend, George Houraney, because the three were working on business deal together. Trump told Houraney he was worried about their business deal because, “I’m very attracted to your girlfriend.”
When Harth met with Trump at his Margo Largo estate, she said Trump forced himself on her:
I was admiring the decoration, and next thing I know he’s pushing me against a wall and has his hands all over me. He was trying to kiss me. I was freaking out.
Harth sued Trump for sexual harassment and Trump paid Hart $100,000 cash to settle the case. However, Harth was not bound to stay silent due to a non-disclosure agreement. Her timing in breaking her silence is something of debate and speculation, and many are curious if Harth was left waiting in the wings by Democratic strategists to damage Trump’s candidacy as much as possible while the election is a month away.
