The New York Times reports that Melania Trump refused to do a joint TV appearance with Republican Nominee Donald Trump after an audio tape from 2005 leaked containing Trump talking about having sex with married women, 5 months after he was married to Melania.

Trump campaign officials suggested internally that Melania and Donald should make an appearance together. Sources within the campaign say that Melania refused to appear.

Via TheHill: The statement would have echoed the joint appearance of Bill and Hillary Clinton on “60 Minutes” in 1992, after Gennifer Flowers accused the president of sexual assault.

Following the additional denunciations of Trump from top GOP lawmakers and Nancy O’Dell, who was a subject of Trump’s vulgar conversation in the tape, the idea of a joint statement was quickly scrapped, according to the Times.

Trump in audio: “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything,” Trump said. “Grab them by the p—y.”
