The campaign of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has been marred with scandal. This seems to not bother Trump, nor his supporters, as one of their truest convictions is to avoid reality at all turns, and to present their own views which paint them as the victorious regardless of the scenario or evidence otherwise. Such has been a pillar of Trump’s entire career. No matter how badly he has done, or how largely he lost, he has always presented himself as the biggest winner of every exchange, and as such one should find no surprise in Trump believing he won the third and final presidential debate between himself and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Trump Tweeted with the gusto only one who is as oblivious as he could accomplish:
The results are in on the final debate and it is almost unanimous, I WON! Thank you, these are very exciting times.
The iron of Trump’s Tweet was not lost on the public, which includes the campaign of Hillary Clinton who took the opportunity to stick Trump with another needle. Clinton successfully baited Trump at every turn, and found his claim of victory to be hysterical and she responded with her own Twitter jest:
Where was this kind of comedy last night?
Clinton’s comments were a reference to Trump’s comedic bombing in front of a room full of priests who decidedly booed him for his poor showmanship. When a room full of priests are booing you, that should tell you all you need to know. When a room full of priests boos Trump, is there any doubt left as to who the villain in this scenario purports to be?
