As the days wind down to the presidential election numerous Hollywood celebrities have endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton over Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. One more name can be added to that list, Hollywood legend Tom Hanks.
While giving an interview about his new movie “Inferno”, the subject of Trump came up and Hanks did not make an effort to mince words or hide his true feelings about Trump and his disgusting rhetoric. Hanks was particularly offended by Trump’s bragging about sexually assaulting women:
Look, I’m offended as a man. I’m not offended as a husband or a father. I’m offended as a guy. That’s just not right, I’m sorry. It’s not right at work, it’s not right in the locker room. It’s wrong, period. The end. That’s all.
When asked who he’d be supporting for president, Hanks was quite clear and offered an illuminating analogy to describe his decision making:
It’s kind of like if you have a horrible, painful tooth, and you need a root canal. Who are you going to see? A guy who says, ‘Oh, I think I can figure that out, how to do a root canal for you. Lay down.’ Or are you going to see somebody who’s done 6,000 of them. Has a degree on the wall and has a great history and expertise when it comes down to it.
