There is no shortage of evidence to prove that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump loves the sound of his own voice, and now the public has a little more. During a campaign stop in Reno, Nevada the failed billionaire lectured the audience on how to pronounce the name of their own state. Many found Trump’s words appalling, but that has never stopped him before and it surely did not stop him this time.
During his speech, where Trump was discussing the plague of opioid addiction, which was ironic enough considering the fact that Trump himself was addicted to amphetamine speed pills in the 90s, suddenly decided he was going to teach the audience they had been saying Nevada all wrong.
Trump said, “You know what I said? You know what I said? I said when I came out here – I said, “Nobody says it the other way, it has to be Nev-AAH-da.””
While some in the crowd laughed, other booed, and others corrected Trump with the correct pronunciation of Ne-VA-duh.
The bombastic billionaire continued, “And if you don’t say it correctly – and it didn’t happen to me, but it happened to a friend of mine. He was killed!”
After the moment of stupidity the Internet exploded with a flury of activity, including a tweet from Senate Minority Leader, and Senior Senator from Nevada, Harry Reid. He wrote:
If Trump wants to come down from the penthouse his daddy bought him to lecture us on Nevada, he could at least pronounce it correctly.

Naturally the Trump campaign took no blame for his words, and attempted to spin the embarrassment into gold by saying Trump had pronounced the state’s name wrong on purpose.
Heard from a Trump campaign source that he actually was joking in Reno when he said the state’s name wrong, that he does know how to say it.
