One of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s greatest adversaries, and a man he personally fears, Vice President Joe Biden, has come out swinging against the braggart businessman. Biden is not impressed nor is he interested in mincing words about the recent revelation of an audio recording which surfaced from 2005 that has Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women, and cheating on his wife.
The Vice President took to Twitter to deliver what is the most scathing rebuke yet by a major political figure. Biden did not attempt to play down the severity of Trump’s 11-year-old comments. He wrote:
The words are demeaning. Such behavior is an abuse of power. It’s not lewd. It’s sexual assault. –Joe
Biden has made a reputation as being a steadfast supporter of women, and has given numerous speeches on college campuses admonishing male students about the propensity for sexual assault while in a collegiate setting. While speaking at the “United State of Women Summit” Biden said to the audience, “You guys in the audience, we’ve gotta overcome this social discomfort of calling out the misogyny that happens when no women are present: the locker room talk, the bar banter, the rape jokes. As a man, maybe it makes you uncomfortable, but if you let it pass because you wanna become of the one guys, you become an accomplice.”
To the credit of Biden he has practiced what he preaches for years. In 1990 he brought forward legislation called the “Violence Against Women Act“, and after a long legislative fight he saw it signed into law in 1994.
