The campaign of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump seems to be going into full tailspin meltdown mode after Trump’s disastrous debate performance against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Much credit was given to Clinton for baiting Trump by reminding viewers about his abysmal treatment of women over the years, punctuated with his irrelevant feud with Rosie O’Donnell. Trump later said he felt Clinton said unkind things about him on the debate stage, and that he had held back his criticisms of her.
While on Fox News Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, defended Trump’s debate performance and echoed Trump’s spin from earlier in the evening. However, in her attempts to gloss over Trump’s poor performance she admitted, albeit briefly, that Trump has a history of abusing women. Conway said, “He made it clear that he came ready to say some rough things if she [Clinton] was going to challenge him about his abuse…about his record on women.
Whoops! Conway’s Freudian slip in admitting something she knows to be true, but is being paid millions of dollars to pretend is not true, was pure comedy fodder at its finest. All of Trump’s lying staff know their candidate is a roughneck joke who should not be in charge of an office’s lunch order, let alone the presidency of the United States. Donald Trump has shown time and again that he is unfit to be president, both in experience and in temperament. It was nice to see someone from his own campaign finally admitting as such.
Watch Conway in her own words below:
