When individual members of the public are faced with injustice their form of protest against said injustice can take many forms. Some choose silence, others choose violence, some choose to raise awareness, and then some individuals in the city of Denver chose taco trucks in their effort to take a public stand against the candidacy of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
A Denver City Council member, Paul Lopez, who is of course a Democrat, solicited the services of Mestizos Taco Truck. He invited the truck to park outside of Mr. Trump’s Denver campaign headquarters as a direct protest of Trump’s surrogate Marco Gutierrez’s comments about Hispanics.

Gutierrez is the co-founder of “Latinos For Trump” and he drew public ire when he said, “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. My culture is a very dominant culture. And it’s imposing, and it’s causing problems. If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner.”
Mr. Lopez was disgusted with the comments by Gutierrez, and Lopez said Gutierrez is a racist. Furthermore, Lopez stated Trump was “absolutely out of touch with the Latino community.”
Thus far Trump’s attempts to repair his image in minority communities, particularly among Hispanics, has fallen flat. After insulting millions of individuals based on the color of their skin or their nation or origin, Trump finds himself surprised that he cannot lure individuals to his side of the aisle. However, while individuals are making up their minds at least they can have a taco if they wish to visit Trump’s campaign office.
