NBA MVP Steph Curry was attending Tech Crunch to talk about a new social media startup he is Co-Founder of when the topic of politics arose. Curry was asked who he supports for President, and for a moment it seemed as if all of the air left the room.
Via OccupyDemocrats: The conference moderator asked the Curry if he preferred, “Hillary or Trump?” Curry said, “Ooooohh…” building up a slightly dramatic moment as the audience audibly gasped while the question hung in the air.
“Hillary,” said Curry, and the crowd went wild.
Curry who has been NBA Most Valuable Player twice also took the opportunity to weigh in on the controversy surrounding San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, in a statement Curry said:
“I support him in his attempt to start the conversation – or continue the conversation – or to try and better a terrible situation that we’ve noticed for a while and especially over the last five years. You’re not going to please everybody and that’s what America is about. Some people are going to agree with Colin, some are not. The common thread is that there is change that needs to be made.”
“We’re blessed with this platform to have to reach out and influence so many different people across the world and not be afraid of negatives that might come your way”
