Mike Pence says he wants to emulate the most hated vice president in history

Indiana Governor Mike Pence, the vice presidential pick of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, horrified the public after he elaborated upon what former vice president he looks to as a role model.

While a guest on ABC’s “This Week” Pence talked about how much he idolizes former Vice President Dick Cheney, an individual who had the lowest approval ratings of any other vice president in American history. Pence said:

I frankly hold Dick Cheney in really high regard in his role as vice president and as an American.

Did Pence mean the Dick Cheney who helped lead America into a quagmire war in Iraq, based upon lies, which Cheney’s former company, Halliburton, earned billions of dollars through contracts which were gifted by the U.S. government? Yes, that Dick Cheney.

Pence then went on to elaborate why he views Cheney as a role model, “Vice President Cheney had experience in Congress as I do, and he was very active in working with members of the House and the Senate.” Pence went on to say, “I would hope that my relationships over my 12 years in Congress and my four years here as governor of Indiana would help carry Donald Trump’s vision to make America great again to people who would be crafting the legislation to put that into practice.”

If the American people have another Dick Cheney to suffer through in Mike Pence, assuming Trump wins the presidency, individuals should be highly worried.
