Why won’t Trump fire an adviser who called for Hillary Clinton to be executed?

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign is still employing an advisor who called for Hillary Clinton to be shot and many observers of the presidential race are scratching their heads as to why this individual has not yet been fired.

The adviser in question, Al Baldasaro, who is a New Hampshire state representative, has been advising Donald trump on veterans affairs. Several weeks ago Baldasaro stated that Hillary Clinton should be executed via firing squad. Baldasaro levied these charges against Clinton in relation to her time as Secretary of State during the Benghazi attack on a consulate which saw U.S. Ambassador Stevens murdered in the streets. Baldasaro said:

She is a disgrace for the lies that she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi. She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back-up security. Something’s wrong there. Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason.

Due to the First Amendment, Baldasaro is legally allowed to state whatever vile opinions he likes. However, for such a high profile individual in the national spotlight to make such comments is by itself trouble. For the Trump campaign to continue availing themselves of Baldasaro’s services shows Trump tacitly agrees with Baldasaro. In fact, the bombastic failed businessman even gave Baldasaro acknowledgement during a recent campaign rally.

Considering the national outrage after Donald Trump solicited his supporters to use second amendment remedies against Hillary Clinton, only to walk the statement back hours later, Trump’s employment of Baldasaro shows the nation that he wasn’t joking around.
