Warren Slams Trump For Suggesting Clinton Should Be Assassinated

Elizabeth Warren responded to Trump’s comments suggesting that gun rights supporters should prospectively kill Hillary Clinton, as many have interpreted his remarks. Her responses made on Twitter, garnered huge support, as Trump’s remarks dominated the headlines yesterday.

Via HuffPo: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) took Donald Trump to task Tuesday for suggesting gun rights supporters could assassinate Hillary Clinton, calling the GOP nominee a “pathetic coward” for making such a remark.

Speaking at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, Trump warned supporters that they’ll have few options if Clinton is elected and appoints justices to the Supreme Court.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump hinted at insurrection during a campaign rally in North Carolina if Hillary Clinton wins the presidency and attempts to nominate new Supreme Court justices.

Trump drooled out, “Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish the 2nd Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks. Although the 2nd Amendment people, maybe there is. I don’t know.”

Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager, released a statement decrying Trump’s despicable words:

This is simple — what Trump is saying is dangerous. A person seeking to be the president of the United States should not suggest violence in any way.

In typical fashion of the cowardly Trump campaign Trump’s senior media advisor, Jason Miller, insisted — much like a child who was caught with his hand in the cookie jar before bedtime — that Trump only meant “2nd amendment people” could take political action as gun-rights supporters, while disavowing what he called “a statement on dishonest media.”

What was dishonest about the statement? In the bizarro world of Trump, the dog whistle of American politics is to insinuate one thing and to then later state it meant something entirely different. Trump covers his bases then, after planting the seed in the minds of his supporters, he can smoothly wipe his hands clean if any of his less mentally cognizant flock do decide to take an outrageous step of attacking the U.S. government to protect the rights Hillary Clinton is not seeking to take away.
