Stewart is back to cover the Republican & Democratic National Conventions, to co-host with old friend Stephen Colbert on The Late Night Show.
Pro tip for anyone who’s been bummed about the absence of Jon Stewart during this election cycle: Make sure to watch Monday’s edition of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
The former host of The Daily Showwill appear on Colbert’s CBS 11:35 p.m. program to help kick off two weeks of live editions timed to the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, Vulture has learned exclusively. Exactly what he’ll be doing Monday remains a mystery,
A rumored role reversal from the days when Stewart was an anchor and Colbert was correspondent is, however, still speculation. More will be known about Stewart’s involvement with The Late Show coverage of the RNC this Monday. Jon Stewart left Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in Spring of 2015.
In November of last year, Stewart announced an upcoming project with HBO, though details of that project are still unknown. Stewart’s contract with HBO runs through 2020.
