Following the leak of emails via a hack of Democrat communications, leading democrats including Robert Reich are calling for the firing of Debbie Wasserman Schultz the head of the DNC. Communications revealed that the DNC and top democrats viewed Bernie Sanders supporters as “them” and Hillary supporters as “us” in communications, that they thought Bernie supporters were violent, and discouraged network heads from taking viewpoints against Hillary or for Bernie since Bernie wouldn’t be President, definitively.
Via RawStory: “It is imperative that the Democratic leadership, both nationally and in the states, understand that the political world is changing and that millions of Americans are outraged at establishment politics and establishment economics,” Sanders said in a statement after the Nevada caucus, where party leaders accused the Sanders campaign of having a “penchant for violence.”
“The Democratic Party has a choice. It can open its doors and welcome into the party people who are prepared to fight for real economic and social change – people who are willing to take on Wall Street, corporate greed and a fossil fuel industry which is destroying this planet,” the Sanders statement continued. “Or the party can choose to maintain its status quo structure, remain dependent on big-money campaign contributions and be a party with limited participation and limited energy.”
At a campaign stop in south Florida, Saturday, Clinton said from the stage that she was excited to have Wasserman Schultz’s help as the campaigns race toward November.
